Ms. Dari Bonner, RMC & Chief Training Officer at MMI, has more than 22 years of healthcare consulting & project management experience, with her areas of expertise in both the public & private sector, hospitals, outpatient service centers and large & small physician practices.

Who is this for?

The online ICD-10-CM training is ideal for medical coders, billers, managers, clinical staff and providers in the physician-office/outpatient setting. This training is intended as a supplemental training to an existing knowledge base of the ICD-9, CPT® and HCPCS II code sets (specialty specific), however it is also ideal for those who are brand new to the coding industry (if this is the case, you will need to add on basic CPT, ICD-9 & HCPCS II training as well).

Upon successful completion of the online training & exam, you will be issued a certificate of completion. Because the ICD-9 code set will be replaced with the ICD-10 code set on October 1, 2015, you will not be required to annually renew this certification.

Course Content

The pre-recorded videos included in this training are hosted by Dari Bonner, RMC, where she covers a brief history of the ICD-10 transition, the differences between ICD-9 & ICD-10, the specific format changes, the coding conventions and GEMS conversion stats before diving into the ICD-10-CM Alphabetic Index and Tabular Index while covering the major chapter changes. The reading assignments will be specialty specific, to give you a further understanding of the changes and how to implement them in the workplace.

Note to new coders/billers: Your reading assignments will cover a general overview of all of the changes made in every specialty. Choose the "None (Brand New)" option from the Specialty drop-down menu.
